| 英文描述 | An infectious disease, primarily of chickens and turkeys, occasionally other poultry, game and wild birds. Has many of the clinical and epizootiologic features and lesions that occur with pullorum disease. Caused by SALMONELLA ENTERICA serovar GALLINARUM In chicken and turkeys, most common in recently hatched chicks and often persists for months; may also occurs in growing birds with no previous history of infection. Transmitted through egg shell contamination and through contaminated food; adult carriers also shed the organism in their feces. Lesions in chicks are characterized by gray nodules in lungs, liver, gizzard wall, heart, intestinal wall, spleen, and peritoneum. Petechial hemorrhages or foci of necrosis and swollen joints are occasionally seen. Adult birds often have no lesions, but nodular myocarditis, pericarditis, hemorrhagic ovaries, and acites may be seen. Diagnosis is by history, agglutination test, and isolation of the organism. |
